These Yellow River water heritages are mainly situated in the middle and lower reaches, covering diverse types of embankments, sluices, dams, irrigation projects, hydrological stations and memorial sites. As important witnesses to the development and management of the Mother River by the people along the river for thousands of years, the 20 water heritages enjoys significant historical, technological, ecological, cultural and social values, sheds light on the changes in river management concept, engineering technology and project construction in different historical periods, and reflects the spirits of diligence, bravery and self-reliance of the Chinese nation.
